SCANNER ART

'brush and tied'. Slowly tied and moved the brushes along the screen.

This weeks project was to create a self portrait through scanning objects and a part of ourselves like our hand or face. I chose to use fairly random objects, choosing an old protea, a pine cone, an apple, some old bangles and bracelets, a woven ball, painbrushes, and some white small origami cranes. I chose them because they are all organic shapes and structures, and they are all a part of my personal space and experiences. This was a fun assignment, allowing for mistakes and play.My favourite is 'Poly'. Just because it's different to the others, the objects made a nice composition, and there's movement in the image.

'treasures'. Placed my objects, and framed them with the grasping position of my hands.
'Poly'. Rolled these three objects along the scanner.

These three are cropped sections of the one scan with the paintbrushes and string. We had to find different compositions within the one picture. I liked the warps, colour and texture that became evident through the close up crops.
